Someone Else

For my very first art post for 2026, here is my illustration of Reze from Chainsaw Man!!! Did my best to capture as much of her as I could with this piece, from her duality up to the tragedy that is her tale and how she impacts Denji's journey overall. I'll let y'all put together the rest of what I tried to convey here by looking into the art itself along with the process.

Already loved how her story was told in the manga, and the anime film managed to do it justice and, honestly, even more so than that! I think this piece also serves as a great way to start the year off (a tad bit late-ish, I know), especially with how moved I was and still am, having recently finally watched the said film.

Chainsaw Man really gets its hooks right into you, never truly letting go, and it all just reminds me that I should continue where I last left off from the manga. It'll also serve as a great way to inspire me to go back to making my own original stories and ideas instead of sitting on 'em for so long by now.
